This is... Calm

My soul feels most alive, at peace and at home floating on a vast sea of warm turqoise, the ultramarine horizon under a cerulean sky. It was this experience, sailing with friends in the BVIs that inspired this painting, as I soaked in this view. These blues calm and cleanse my spirit, the hues of our radiant Blue Planet. Water and Air, a perfect union.
 
This is Calm / 36x60" oil painting on 1-1/2" deep canvas, with the painting extended around the sides for an elegant fluid aesthetic, so there's no need to frame it. It's been temporarily varnished to protect the surface as it dries. When you purchase this painting, I will varnish the final layer using a gloss, satin, or matt finish- the preference is yours.
 
This painting was made using many layers of paint to create the illusion of depth and translucency that doesn't replicate in the photo. It radiates different shades and depths of light as the light changes throughout the day. It must be seen in person to be experienced! It's like looking through a window out on the Caribbean sea, where cerulean sky meets turquoise crystal clear waters, only marked by shadows of clouds as they dance on the surface, as they flow past in the warm breeze.
 
*Please note before you purchase, this painting may be shipped as is (on stretcher bars) via FedEx for approx $300 within Canada. For International shipping, it will be removed from it's stretcher bars and shipped safely rolled up. Your local art and framing stores offer stretching services to re-mount it.
