Early one morning I watched sunrise over the Ganges marina at the end of gasoline alley on Salt Spring Island. I became aware of a curious raven who joined me. Looking up, I was suddenly in awe of the palms glowing green-gold in the morning sun. “I live on an island with palm trees… in Canada!” I exclaimed out loud. Raven whole heartedly agreed. It was a sparkly a moment.
