Creative Journaling 1:1 Online Class

Service Description

Have fun discovering your creative "voice"! Learn how to document your life, natural surroundings, home or garden, travels and adventures while capturing the moment with all your senses in this condensed version of my 3-week Creative Journaling workshop. This online Zoom class is ideal for those who live near or far who prefer to learn from the comfort of home. The camera set up will inlcude both a view of Daina plus a full view of her workspace for easy following. Using simple techniques and materials, this workshop will inspire you to capture the simple beauty surrounding you in every day life. No prior creative experience is necessary. 

A supply list is provided with enough time ahead of our class to feel prepared so you can order online or visit your local art store. We will explore a full spectrum of materials and techniques including basic observational drawing (the art of seeing) and painting with watercolours. Learn how to create value, contrast and texture using pen and paint, how to draw from life or a photo, how to aesthetically compose a page and what to write in your journal. Possibilities to reference while we explore how to document these visually include photos of places that hold special memories or objects that you cherish. We will also discuss what makes a subject interesting, how to approach ideas from a creative standpoint, as well as gain inspiration from other creative journaling artists. Never again feel embarrassed at the thought of someone reading your journal. You might even find yourself sharing it with friends and family, inspiring them to begin their own! Cancellation Policy

Art Lessons & Classes: To reschedule a private lesson, please contact Daina with at least 24 hours notice. For cancellations with regards to a private lesson, group class, art camp or workshop, refunds are conditional to your spot being refilled, minus the advertising fees required to fill the spot. If the spot cannot be filled, a refund cannot be given, as that is a lost opportunity for someone else. It is greatly encouraged the student wishing to cancel find someone to replace their spot in order to ensure their refund. In extenuating circumstances, credit towards a future creative experience may be issued. No-shows are considered time used.
